Erika A. Sussman
Executive Director

Erika Sussman is the Executive Director of the Center for Survivor Agency and Justice. For the past four years, she has served as an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School where she teaches a class on Law and Violence Against Women. She was previously a staff attorney and Women's Law and Public Policy Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center's Domestic Violence Clinic, where she supervised law students and litigated cases on behalf of domestic violence survivors in the District of Columbia. Prior to that, she was a litigation associate at Swidler Berlin Sherreff Friedman, LLP, where she provided pro bono representation to domestic violence survivors in conjunction with Women Empowered Against Violence (WEAVE) and co-counseled a race profiling class action suit against the Maryland State Police Department. She has published several articles and served as faculty for various academic and practitioner workshops related to violence against women. She obtained her B.S. from Cornell University, her J.D. from Cornell Law School, and her L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Tracy J. Davis
Senior Attorney

Tracy Davis is the Senior Attorney for the Center for Survivor Agency and Justice. Prior to joining the CSAJ, Tracy worked as a staff attorney with Legal Action of Wisconsin providing direct legal services to low-income individuals. This work included serving domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking survivors through LAV and VOCA grants. She has trained attorneys and advocates in the areas of protection orders, family law, public benefits, and economic justice. She has a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, M.A. from the University of Cincinnati, and B.A. from the University of Manitoba.

Christina S.R. New
Project Coordinator

Christina New is the Project Coordinator at the Center for Survivor Agency and Justice. Before joining the CSAJ, Christina was a Senior Case Manager at Safe Horizon, a crime victim services organization in New York. She worked with survivors of domestic violence in the Queens Criminal and Supreme Court Program. Previously, she held internships providing direct services to the mentally ill, at The Bridge, Inc., a mental health organization, and to families at The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Christina holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Delaware and an M.S.W. from Hunter College in New York.


The CSAJ staff is dedicated to enhancing advocacy for survivors of oppression-based intimate partner violence. They strive to meet this goal by cultivating a community of attorneys and advocates who are skilled in survivor-centered advocacy and are capable of meeting the spectrum of survivors' civil legal assistance needs in partnership with others.
